Latino Leadership Academy
The Latino Leadership Academy was inspired by the successful Latino Center for Leadership Development, which developed over 50 fellows who today serve their community in various ways including in elected and appointed office. Building on that success, the Callejo-Botello Latino Leadership Academy is now searching for the next class of fellows to continue cultivating leaders who are ready to bring fresh ideas and positive change to meet the growing demand for leadership in the Latino community.

What is the Latino Leadership Academy?
The LLA will continue to keep the focus on building North Texas leaders, it will have a quicker academy turnaround in time for campaign season and help better prepare our participants to directly take on campaigning.
Is the Latino Leadership Academy still a part of LCLD?
The academy is a part of the Callejo Botello Foundation 501(c)(3).
Where should checks be written to?
Donations should be made out to the ‘Callejo Botello Foundation” and will go to the Callejo Botello Foundation.
Are donations tax deductible?
Yes, all donations to the (name) are tax deductible as a 501(c)(3).
Is there a cost to be a part of the academy?
Yes, if selected participants will be required to pay $2000 to join the academy.
A payment plan will be available if needed.
A limited amount of scholarships will be available to participants.
What do the fees cover?
The investment will go to help pay for seminar fees such as: speaker honorariums, meals, space rentals and materials for the fellows.
What will the application process be like?
There will be an online application, submittal of a resume, headshot, and a virtual interview.
When is the deadline to apply?
Applications are open from December 11, 2024 through January 3, 2025
Decisions will be made by January 21, 2025
Who can apply to the Latino Leadership Academy?
Anyone who lives in the following NTX counties is eligible to apply: Collin, Cooke, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Grayson, Hunt, Johnson, Kaufman, Parker, Rockwall, Summerville, and Tarrant.
